first of all, I bought this item knowing in advance that the claimed data are not real, anyway the price was low enough to give it a try. Obviously it's not a professional grade optics, there is an (for me) acceptable pincushion distorsion and chromatic aberration on the borders, but in the center is clear and the focus is smooth. At last, it's more than a toy, I bought it to check the scoring while shooting and for this use is quite good. Real data are: front lens 40mm, ocular lens 18mm, 10x magnification, eye relief long enough to see something wearing glasses, but you see quite better (larger field) without glasses. The ocular rubber is not collapsable, but you can take it off easily (just a point of glue); in the case, part of barrel is naked, but you gain 2mm, useful if you wear glasses. You can slightly adjust focus on the ocular too, but i keep it all screwed in to gain eye relief. By the way, I can not understand why the producer should not claim real performance (actually 18x62 is the model name, NOT the usual optics rating) because even as a real 10x40 this item worth it's price; anyway be serious, what do you really expect for less than 13 bucks?
